Speech Pathologists

ALYSSA FAIRCHILD

M.S., CCC-SLP

Alyssa Fairchild, M.S., CCC-SLP received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Baylor University and her Master of Science degree from Baylor University in 2009. She is certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and is licensed to practice in the state of Texas. She is a certified provider for DIR Floortime and Hanen: More Than Words. Alyssa has received extended training in childhood apraxia of speech and has attended the Advanced Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing training and the Kaufman Apraxia Seminar. Alyssa is LAMP trained and is Beckman Oral Motor Certified as well.

Alyssa has worked in a variety of settings including the local school district, a private school for children with language and learning differences, and a rehab hospital. She understands the impact speech disorders can create, not only for the child, but for the family as well. Alyssa founded her speech therapy practice in 2010 and has greatly enjoyed developing relationships with families and seeing each child improve in their ability to communicate.

ERIKA PRINGLE

M.S., CCC-SLP

Erika Pringle, M.S., CCC-SLP received her Bachelors of Science degree and Masters of Science degree from Alabama A&M University. She is a licensed Speech Language Pathologist in the state of Texas and is certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).

Erika has been a school-based SLP since 2008. She has worked with children to help them accomplish their goals along a wide spectrum of speech and language needs. Erika has taken the first level of DIR Floortime Training.

KIRBY GRIGSBY

M.S., CCC-SLP

Kirby Grigsby, M.S., CCC-SLP received her Master of Science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Texas at Dallas in 2014. She is licensed by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and is licensed to practice in the state of Texas. Kirby has worked in a variety of settings including the local school district and a private school for children with language and learning differences. Kirby has received extended training in childhood apraxia of speech and has attended the Advanced Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing training. She has received specialty training in AAC devices as well through LAMP.

KATINA ARVIDSON

M.S., CCC-SLP

Katina Arvidson, M.A., CCC-SLP received her Bachelors of Arts degree and Masters of Arts degree from Indiana University. She is a licensed Speech Language Pathologist in the state of Texas and is certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
Katina enjoys working with young children to strengthen their communication skills. Katina has received extended training in childhood apraxia of speech and has attended the Advanced Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing training.

RACHAEL BAETHGE

M.S., CCC-SLP

Rachael Baethge, M.S., CCC-SLP received her Bachelors of Science degree in Speech and Language Pathology from Texas Christian University and her Masters of Science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Baylor University in 2009. She is a licensed Speech Language Pathologist in the state of Texas and certified by the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA).

Rachael has worked in a variety of settings including acute care, inpatient and outpatient rehab, private practice, and a private school for children with learning differences and developmental disorders. Rachael enjoys making every therapy session specifically unique to the child while helping them achieve the most success towards their functional communication goals.

Kirby Cosco

M.A., CCC-SLP

Kirby Cosco attended the University of Oklahoma where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. She then attended the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center where she graduated with a Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology.

Kirby began her career with a nearby school district and worked there from 2015-2018. In 2018, Kirby moved to Alabama where she worked at an outpatient pediatric clinic from 2018-2019.

Dr. Richa Deshmukh

PhD, CCC-SLP

Dr. Richa Deshmukh, CCC-SLP, received her Masters’ degree from University of Mysore, India and her PhD from the Ohio State University. She is certified by the American Speech-Lanaguge-Hearing Association and is licensed to practice in the state of Texas. Richa has over 10 years of clinical experience working with young children with a variety of communication disorders.
 
 
In the last 6 years her work has been mostly focused on children with Autism and other neuro-developmental disorders. Richa also has background in alternative augmentative communciaton and is LAMP trained. She is passionate about providing young children the necessary tools to communicate effectively with their environment.
 
Richa also provides therapy in Hindi and Marathi.

Julie Meyers

MA, CCC-SLP

Julie Meyers, M.A., CCC-SLP, received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Disorders and Sciences from Baylor University in 1994 and her Master of Arts degree in Communication Disorders from the University of Houston in 1996.  She holds her Certification of Clinical Competence (C.C.C.) from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and is licensed to practice in Texas.  Julie has 15 years of experience working in the public schools, (12 years in Katy ISD). She is an energetic and compassionate SLP experienced in early childhood and elementary articulation and language disorders, stuttering and developmental delays in students with Autism.  She is passionate about helping children develop the necessary strategies and skills to advance their communication into all aspects of their lives (home, school, and relationships). She looks forward to partnering with families to help their children be successful and meet their communication goals. In her free time, Julie enjoys playing tennis, going on spontaneous road trips with her husband, walking her dog Tucker, and visiting her two grown children in college at Baylor and Texas A&M.

Brittany Dobbs

MS, CCC-SLP

Brittany Dobbs, M.S., CCC-SLP received her Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Language Pathology in 2008 and her Masters of Science in Speech Language Pathology in 2009 from University of the Pacific in California. She is certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing-Association and is a licensed Speech Language Pathologist in the state of Texas. Brittany has experience working with children in a variety of settings, including schools and private practice. When she’s not in the clinic, Brittany homeschools her two children

Courtney Hatten

MS, CCC-SLP

Courtney Hatten, M.S., CCC-SLP received her Bachelors of Art degree from Michigan State University and her Masters of Science degree from Texas Woman’s University. She is a licensed Speech Language Pathologist in the state of Texas and holds her Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association. 

Courtney has over 15 years experience working as a school-based SLP for the local school district.

In her free time, Courtney enjoys working out at OrangeTheory Fitness and being her children’s biggest fans at their soccer, football and basketball games.

Dr. Heather Walker

PT, DPT

Dr. Heather Walker, PT, DPT received her Bachelors of Science in Exercise Sports Medicine with Physical Therapy Emphasis from Texas State University and her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Texas Woman’s University in 2015.  She is certified by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and is licensed to practice in the state of Texas.  Heather has practiced with pediatrics for six years and has attended extended training for various early intervention techniques and developmental disabilities.  

Heather’s work in home health has fostered a deep understanding of the challenges faced by children with disabilities and their families. Her goal is to reduce risk of further injuries and increase independence in the home and community settings. She is also an advocate for families in various challenges including ordering equipment, writing letters of medical necessity, and standing alongside them as they navigate the world of pediatric disabilities.

Dr. Carrienne Matthews

OTD, MOT, OTR/L

Dr. Carrienne Matthews, OTD, MOT, OTR/L received her Bachelor’s of Science in Public Health degree in 2003 from Dillard University.  In 2007, she earned her Master’s of Occupational Therapy degree from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center and she received her Doctorate of Occupational Therapy degree from Misericordia University in 2016.  She is certified by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy and is also a certified lymphedema therapist.  Carrienne has spent the majority of her career working in pediatrics and has had the opportunity to work in a variety of practice settings to include inpatient rehab, outpatient therapy, home health, academia, and also a daycare center providing day health services for medically complex and fragile children.  Her pediatric experience encompasses working with children with a vast array of diagnoses from birth to adolescence.  She holds memberships with the American Occupational Therapy Association and the Texas Occupational Therapy Association, both of which she has had the honor to be selected to be a presenter at their annual conferences.

Carrienne is very energetic, compassionate, and creative and she is passionate about working with children and their families.  She enjoys spending time with her husband and their three beautiful daughters.  Her favorite hobbies include crafting, dancing, and watching a good movie.  Carrienne believes in helping others and giving back to the community and seeks to support volunteer efforts whenever possible.  She is excited to be a part of the team and looks forward to working with you and your family!

Sarah Baker

Office Manager

Sarah Baker was born and raised in Houston.  She now resides in Richmond with her husband, Brian.  For the last 20 years she has managed an optometry practice in Missouri City with a strong focus on pediatrics and vision therapy.  She is excited to continue working with children in her role with Katy Speech And Language.

Ashley Gaines

Office Manager

Ashley Gaines is a Houston native and has over 16 years of experience in the medical field. Her last 13 years were spent in Ophthalmology as an Ophthalmic Assistant. Ashley is a student at the University of Houston and is working to obtain a degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. She is dedicated and motivated to helping our therapists and our patients. In her free time, Ashley enjoys cheering for her two boys during their wrestling matches and basketball games.
