Little Learners Language Group
At Katy Speech and Language, we provide a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment designed to help children build the skills they need to transition into a more traditional preschool setting. Our program serves children ages 3–5 with a wide range of diagnoses, strengths, and developmental needs.
Through play-based activities, songs, and structured routines, children are introduced to a typical preschool experience within a small group setting. The group is designed to provide a safe and supportive learning environment where children can build confidence and develop their communication skills while interacting with others.
We keep our class sizes intentionally small and maintain a low teacher-to-student ratio so each child receives individualized attention and support. Every class is led by two licensed or certified therapists, with enrollment limited to just 4–6 students.
Sessions are offered on a semester basis, and families may choose for their child to attend one or two classes per week, depending on their needs and goals.
Our sessions are thoughtfully designed with creative, themed activities that capture children’s interest and encourage active participation. Each activity is flexible and can be adapted to meet the individual needs of every child.
While our sessions are engaging and dynamic, we also prioritize balance. Children move between calm, focused learning and active play, helping them stay regulated and successful. We follow a consistent routine and use supportive transitions—like songs, rhymes, and clear cues—to create a sense of predictability and security. Our team incorporates a variety of tools and strategies, such as AAC devices, visual schedules, and choice boards, to help each child reach their full potential. We are committed to providing the support each child needs to grow and thrive.
Each session targets a wide range of developmental skills, including functional communication (verbal, nonverbal, and AAC users welcome), receptive and expressive language development, gross and fine motor play, sensory exploration, early literacy skills, self-regulation, and social interaction such as turn-taking, sharing, and participating in a group setting.
